VC music professor to perform saxophone recital

Victoria College’s Guest and Faculty Recital Series continues at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10 with a solo saxophone recital by Jonathan Anderson.

The concert, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Johnson Symposium on VC’s Main Campus.

Anderson is a professor of music and department chairman of Victoria College’s Fine Arts Department, where in 2005 he was awarded the “Distinguished Teaching Award.” He was also nominated for the “Minnie Stevens Piper Award” in education.

A native of Lincoln, Ill., Anderson received his early musical training from Selmer clinician and Paris Conservatory graduate, Keith Zimmerman. He holds bachelor’s degrees in both music education and performance from Millikin University, and a Master of Music degree from Ball State University.

  •     Nick Stange, percussion instructor at Victoria West High School and VC adjunct instructor
