Strategic Plan 2020 - 2025

VC's strategic plan is meant to be a framework that guides the college's future-oriented efforts. Additionally, a vital goal of strategic plan is to not duplicate work. A new feature of VC's strategic planning process is more thoughtful integration into our current activities. As the spring semester progresses (and 2022-2023 budgets are developed), current units and committees will review their work for alignment with strategic plan's five topics and underlying objectives. Once the college is sure that all current efforts are being fairly counted, focus will shift to facilitating new work. Due to VC's ongoing reaffirmation of accreditation work, this will include a new Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). VC's new QEP will be firmly grounded in VC's 2025 strategic plan - and will be developed through a college-wide process to ensure broad-based support of any constituencies affected by the plan (QEPs must focus on either improving student learning or student completion/success).

The process overall is outlined below. Again, as VC progresses through these milestones, update memos will keep our VC Family up to date.

VC's new strategic plan will have one or more topics with a brief descriptive paragraph that defines our strategic outlook and aspirations/hopes. This will help all employees understand and evaluate how their actions and work supports our community's future. Additionally, under each topic, there will be one or more objectives. These highly specific objectives will enable our college to know precisely what needs to be achieved.
