Automatic Admission - Students who successfully complete the Academy, earning a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on all Academy coursework, will be eligible for automatic admission to TAMUK and their corresponding engineering specialty program.

Personalized Advising - Students will be required to meet with their Academic Advisor each semester to ensure they are fully supported and enrolled in the correct coursework. 

Networking & Social Events - Explore what TAMUK has to offer, see the campus and build connections with current students, faculty and future employers.

Reverse Transfer - Students who have transferred to TAMUK prior to completing an associate degree at VC can transfer course work back to VC to receive their associate degree.

Scholarships - In addition to financial aid, scholarship opportunities will be available to eligible students enrolled in the Academy.

General Admission Requirements 

1. Visit ApplyTexas.org to submit your application for admission to our 2-year community college.
2. Submit the following to Admissions & Recruitment:
   • Official high school transcripts with graduation date or GED certificate
   • Previous official college/university transcripts (if applicable)
   • Bacterial Meningitis (if applicable)
   • Test Scores (see Step 2 for more information)

Mathematics is essential in engineering. It helps engineers analyze models, predict outcomes, and make informed decisions.

To ensure students can enter the correct math course rotations and meet prerequisites for required science courses, TSI completion in math or an equivalent test score is required for admission to the Javelina Engineering Academies at Victoria College.

You may satisfy this requirement by:

• Submitting qualifying test scores (see the VC Catalog for required state testing), or
• Scheduling an appointment with theTesting Center to take the TSI Assessment.

Once you have completed the steps above, submit the Javelina Engineering Academies Application. After submitting your application, check your student email in the Pirate Portal for a confirmation message with your next steps. All future communications regarding your Academy admission will be sent to your student email.

Students accepted to the Javelina Academies at Victoria College must meet the following requirements to remain active in the program:

• Maintain part-time enrollment (minimum of 6 credit hours) each semester.
• Have a 2.0 cumulative GPA during your first semester in the academy.
• Maintain a 2.5 GPA during your remaining semesters in the academy.
• Meet with your academic advisor before classes begin.
• Attend four approved Academy events and at least one Fuel Your Focus event per semester to qualify for the financial stipend.
