Getting A Library Card

VC students, faculty, and staff needing to obtain a library card must request a photo ID from the Payments Office located in the Student Services Building.  Bring the ID to the VC Library to get registered for a library card. 

Members of the public can get a VC Library card with a current Texas Driver's License, Texas ID card with a current address, or a high school ID. 

Borrowing Materials

Current students and faculty can check out unlimited items. 

Members of the public will be limited to one item for the first 30 days.  After 30 days, borrowers may checkout three items at a time.

Computer Lab

• Computers with access to a black and white printer and Microsoft Office suite

Printing

VC Student can print using their PaperCut account for $0.05 per single-sided page.  PaperCut only prints in black and white. 

VC Library has a photo copy machine separate from the student accounts.  Black and white printing cost $0.10 per single-sided page. Color costs $0.25 per sheet.  The machine takes cash and debit/credit cards.  There is an additional $0.10 charge per session if using a debit/credit card. 

Study Spaces

VC Library has 5 study room available for check out for 2 hours at a time.  Each study room contains a white board. Two study rooms have access to monitors and keyboards. 

There are also open study spaces with tables and chairs for walk-in use.  

Victoria College Library partners with the A&M-Victoria on Ben Wilson Street, and the VC Gonzales Center to offer study areas. 

Interlibrary Loans

Students, faculty, and staff have the privilege of borrowing materials from another library.  A current library card is needed to use this service.  More information in Interlibrary Loans can be found on the A&M-Victoria Library webpage.

Please note:  Interlibrary Loans are run through A&M-Victoria.  Items from Interlibrary Loans must be picked up and dropped off at the Interlibrary Loan department located on the 3rd floor of the A&M-Victoria library.  

Student, faculty, and staff of VC have full access to the A&M-Victoria Library.

Parking

All VC students have access to the A&M-Victoria Library located in the University Commons Building at 3006 N. Ben Wilson.

An A&M-Victoria parking permit is required for the lot north of University Commons library building (lot AA) for students and employees that use or work in the building. The nearest open parking is lot T adjacent to the soccer field.

Note: Lot AA is very small and a large percentage will be eventually marked “employee reserved” or “guest parking”, leaving little for non-reserved employees or students.

3D Printer

Have you ever had the desire to try 3D printing?  Well, now is your chance.  The VC Library has a 3D Printer, PolyPrinter 229, for students, staff, and members of the public to use. 

What You Need

Come in with your finished .stl file, and turn your concept into reality.  While staff will help with equipment and basic software support, they are not responsible for helping you design the .stl file.  If you are having trouble with finding or creating a design, a list of helpful resource can be found below. 

Price

3D printing is 5 cents/gram; thus the cost of printing depends on the size of your project.  Faculty members of VC/UHV can print for free as long as it is for academic purposes. 

Colors

The 3D printer uses ABS filament, which is safe to use both indoors and outdoors. The filament comes in several colors:
