The Museum of the Coastal Bend at Victoria College will showcase the temporary exhibit “Royston Nave: A Painter’s View of Texas” from Tuesday, Sept. 2, through Saturday, Nov. 8, in the Borchers Leon Exhibit Hall.
Presented in partnership with The Nave Museum, the exhibit features paintings by renowned Texas artist Royston Nave (1886–1931) that highlight the beauty and heritage of the state’s landscapes.
Nave, celebrated for his portraiture and Impressionist landscapes, captured daily life in Texas with vivid color and dynamic brushstrokes. His work offers an authentic view of the landscapes of the Coastal Bend’s ranching heritage, complementing the museum’s new permanent ranching exhibit, “Where Texas Ranching Began.”
The Museum of the Coastal Bend is located on VC’s Main Campus at 2200 E. Red River Street in Victoria. The museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. Donations are appreciated.
