VC nursing program tops Texas rankings as it celebrates 50 years

VC Nursing Faculty and Staff hold the new banner honoring the ADN program's #1 ranking VC nursing staff and faculty

Victoria College’s Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program was recently ranked the number one nursing school in Texas by RegisteredNursing.org.

The ranking reflects VC’s perfect 100-percent pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) over the last two years, with all 171 students successfully passing. Victoria College ranked above colleges and universities across the state.

“This recognition speaks volumes about the dedication of our students, faculty, staff and administration,” said Irma Moreno, ADN Program Chair and Associate Professor. “This honor is decades in the making, and we’re all so proud to be part of this program and its legacy of high-quality nursing.”

The honor comes at a milestone moment as Victoria College marks its 100th anniversary in 2025, and the ADN Program is celebrating 50 years of educating nurses. Since its founding in 1975, more than 3,000 nurses have graduated from the program.

“We have an amazing group of students, faculty and staff here,” said Dr. Jennifer Kent, Victoria College President. “It’s an honor to be able to support this incredible program every step of the way."

Current ADN students, faculty, staff and alumni gathered on Monday, Sept. 15, for a special celebration honoring the recognition.
