VC joins Aspen Institute College Excellence Program’s new Presidents & Trustees Collaborative
Victoria College has been selected to join the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program’s new Presidents & Trustees Collaborative. The statewide partnership with the Texas Success Center will support selected Texas community colleges in strengthening board and president alignment to drive lasting student success.
The collaborative will feature in-person and virtual sessions designed to advance student success. Victoria College President Dr. Jennifer Kent and the Board of Trustees will participate in Aspen’s Trustee Framework and study best practices from Aspen Prize–winning colleges to further align board governance and institutional goals and priorities.
The Aspen Institute’s research indicates that community colleges achieve student success when presidents and trustees are clearly aligned on priorities, policies, budgets and metrics. By joining the Aspen Presidents & Trustees Collaborative, Victoria College is strengthening its commitment to student success through Guided Pathways.
“Victoria College’s Guided Pathways approach gives students clear course options and integrated support every step of the way,” said Dr. Kent. “Joining the Aspen Presidents & Trustees Collaborative will allow our board and administration to align even more closely around these student-centered strategies, ensuring that our decisions reinforce the structures and supports that help every student succeed.”
