Four Victoria College cross country runners earn spot at nationals

Four Victoria College cross country athletes have qualified to compete at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Championship on Nov. 8 in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Representing VC at the national meet will be Max Barnett of Goliad, Clayton Hlavac of Yoakum, Kameron Mitchell of Wharton, and MyKenna Zarate of Edna. The student athletes advanced after strong performances at the NJCAA Region XIV Championships at Blinn College in Brenham, Texas.

“I’m incredibly proud of Kameron, Max, Clayton and MyKenna for earning their spot at nationals,” said Victoria College Head Cross Country Coach Rudy Rocha. “They’ve worked hard all season, and their commitment and teamwork have paid off. It’s exciting to see them represent Victoria College on the national stage.”

Victoria College offers athletic opportunities in Cross Country and Track & Field, providing student-athletes with opportunities to compete at regional and national levels while pursuing their academic goals.
