Museum of the Coastal Bend
Families can enjoy free, hands-on activities and educational fun this summer at the Museum of the Coastal Bend during Family Discovery Saturdays, a weekly series running June 6 through July 25.
The series begins with the opening of the museum’s Native Plant Garden exhibit and activities including making bee houses, creating herbal teas and more.
Programs throughout June and July will explore the history of the Texas coast, including the Early Peoples of Texas and European exploration and colonization of the region. Participants can make pottery, learn about stone tools, practice knot-tying skills and build boats designed to float.
The summer series concludes with a ranching-themed celebration in honor of National Day of the Cowboy.
