Victoria Police Chief Clay Fetters
Victoria College students and employees gathered Friday to mark the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and honor the lives lost and the courage and sacrifice that followed.
The remembrance ceremony included the posting of the colors, the national anthem, remarks from guest of honor Victoria Police Chief Clay Fetters, the playing of Taps, and the laying of a wreath at Victoria College’s 9/11 memorial tree outside the Student Success Center.
Fetters was a student in Victoria College’s Law Enforcement Academy when the attacks occurred and later served during Operation Iraqi Freedom. During the ceremony, he shared his experience with the VC community and reflected on the events and their lasting impact.
