Join us for a big Islander welcome at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi! This trip is the perfect opportunity to learn more about transferring to TAMU-CC, their admissions processing, their programs, financial aid and transfer scholarship opportunities, housing, and much more. There will also be opportunities to mingle with faculty, staff, and student representatives from across campus for an inside look at what being an Islander is all about.

This exploration day at A&M-Victoria is the perfect opportunity to learn more about transferring to A&M-Victoria and admissions processing, their programs, financial aid and transfer scholarship opportunities, housing, and much more. There will also be opportunities to mingle with faculty, staff, and student representatives from across campus for an inside look on what being a Jaguar is all about.

Is your college or university interested in recruiting our VC Pirates? Complete the Recruiting Booth Request Form.

Submitting this form will allow universities, colleges, and other institutions of higher education to promote their schools and programs and offer transfer opportunities to Victoria College Students. Institutions can submit this request when they would like to have a presence on the VC campus. Representatives will be allowed to have a table/booth in high traffic areas on campus.

If your goal is to transfer to another college or university, it's important to take classes at Victoria College that best align with the expectations of your transfer institution and program. Researching what courses to take for transfer credit ensures you maximize the number of credits that not only transfer but are directly applicable to your degree.

Transfer Policies and Requirements -  Review the transfer policies and admission requirements of the prospective institution and check for any specific transfer criteria, such as a minimum GPA, a minimum or maximum number of required credit hours, and prerequisites.

Transfer Credit Evaluation - Understand the institution's policies on accepting credits from your current or previous school and ask about the process for evaluating transfer credits to determine which completed courses will transfer and count toward your degree requirements.

Accreditation - Confirming that a recognized accrediting body accredits the prospective institution ensures that the institution and the program of interest, if applicable, meet specific academic standards. Check if your school is accredited. Here are some additional reasons why accreditation is significant:

• Quality Assurance - Ensures that an institution meets or exceeds established standards of educational quality.

• Recognition of Degrees and Credits - Degrees and credits earned from an accredited institution are widely recognized and accepted by other educational institutions, employers, and professional organizations.

• Federal Funding Eligibility - Accreditation is often a prerequisite for an institution to be eligible for federal financial aid programs.

• Professional Licensing and Certification - Many professional licensing boards and certification organizations require applicants to have completed their education at accredited institutions.

• Continuous Improvement - Accredited institutions commit to a process of continuous improvement which encourage institutions to assess and enhance their educational programs and services.

• Student and Parent Confidence - Accreditation provides assurance to students and their parents that the institution is committed to maintaining high educational standards.

• Access to Research Funding - Accredited institutions are often eligible for research funding and grants from governmental and private sources which supports the institution's ability to engage in research and contribute to academic advancements.

• Institutional Accountability - Accreditation is a mechanism for holding institutions accountable to the public and stakeholders.

Application Deadlines - Be aware of transfer application deadlines and admission timelines for the institution and applicable programs with separate admission requirements and deadlines. Plan your application process accordingly to meet these deadlines.
